Been painting for about 4 years, and 2 years at learning portraits. Thr past month ive gone back to monochromatic painting, thinking of underpainting. . I got to learn so much with just this one video! I had recently learned about this method for digital art, but had no idea this was obviously done in traditional art first🥲😭. It really is now established for me to start by building up the values and then add the colour layers

Anyone know who the model is?

Not bad but i would have used the tool for inserting the tabs at the rear of the frame, as i didnt like the fact that she was hammering the tabs in which could result in damaging the mitres at the corners of the frame plus didn't like the way she holds her pencil.

First time I ever saw an artist uses the watercolor brush like a pastel stick to build the forms!

This seems a lot of work cant we just put painting in frames that comes for the photos, they are attached with cardboard on the back

What kind of tape is that?

Thank you for the tips, I have an old painting of my Grandma and the frame used to be gold but now is an ugly brown, only problem is I can't remove the painting from frame. I have painters tape and I will have to be careful, if mine comes out as nice as yours did I will be happy. Wish me luck :)
